What about jurisdiction for foreign accident claims ?

Many people are put off considering a claim as they believe that it will be incredibly difficult and costly since they believe that they would have to make the claim in the country where the accident or injury occurred. However, this is often not the case bearing in mind The Package Travel, Package Holiday and Package Tour Regulations 1992 and the 4th EU Motor Directive 2003.

These Regulations and directives mean that it may well be possible for you to claim in the English Courts if you booked your holiday as a package deal because in those circumstances, your claim will be against the travel company you booked through which simplifies things considerably.
